Mashua Project’s main purpose is to offer common wellbeing through fashion accessories and related experiences in the fashion, tourism, and decoration sector.
It has been a long journey, but after 10 years of shuffling my way through the tourism industry and 8 years in Health, Safety and Environment education, I decided to create Mashua Project. With Mashua, I definitely found my purpose by doing what I’m passionate about: research, constant learning and creating awareness by delivering different projects related to Health, Safety and Environment Management at home and work. Since fashion is the second most polluting industry I decided to focus on textiles, fashion accessory products and home décor items.
My name is María Javier, and I have lived in Barcelona, Spain since 2019. I have an extensive background in tourism, health, safety and environment, as well as in the education sector. About 7 years ago, I founded Mashua Project with the vision and goal to stop being a passive and unconscious consumer and opt for creating awareness of the existent dangers and hazards that we are continuously exposed to, as they are the main cause of different illnesses and accidents.
In our products and collections, we gather the ancestral knowledge of Peruvian Native Communities I’ve visited in Peru and the agile prototype technologies I recently learned at Fabricademy Barcelona.

My main drive was to create a preventive culture by offering 03 different levels of consultancy services, as well as regenerative solutions such as fashion accessories and home décor products with therapeutic and shielding features that can be easily included into our daily lives.
Each product and service created by Mashua Project takes us to amazing stories and natural ecosystems behind each texture, pattern, color and iconography.
