Any regenerative designed product starts with a selection of materials and innovative processes that enable us to deliver a sustainable design UX User Experience with a minimalistic, protective and multifunctional approach that provides a healthy and safe ecosystem. We continuosly research and look for developing new biomaterials and bioshades.
Textiles, Bioshades and Biomaterials
A textile is a flexible material made by creating an interlocking network of yarns or threads, which are produced by spinning raw fibres (from either natural or synthetic sources) into long and twisted lengths.Textiles are then formed by weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting, tatting, felting, bonding or braiding these yarns together.
Peru has a great source of ancestral knowledge that is still practiced in all of its 55 indigenous peoples in Peru, 51 from the Amazon and 4 from the Andes.
Currently we had collaborated with 3 of these communities: Yanesha, Shipibo Conibo and Cajamarca.
We share the vision of one of the connoisseurs of the history of color that we admire Anne Varichon. Understanding the history and meaning of color takes us on a butterfly journey, which flies over the Earth and attracted by certain colors, settles on a vast continent or a small island. It is at each stop that we begin to understand the meaning of color in each culture. In addition to understanding the reason for each color palette existing in each community and its impact on their physical, mental and emotional health.
On the other hand, coloring with bacteria leads us to develop dyeing processes with more sustainable processes, since they involve less energy and water consumption, in addition to the fact that they can provide ratsrea properties and detection of contaminants such as bacteria that act as biosensors.
Our latest Shielding Collection includes multifinctional garments colored with Janthinobacterium Lividum bacteria.
One of the main nexus between fashion and gastronomy according to Ethnic Fashion teacher Olga Zaferson is the color that is made with the spices, fruits and herbs characteristic of each area, but at the same time these residues can be the key to developing a regenerative design of biomaterials.
Our research and development process of new biomaterials is focused in offering a Regenerative Shielding Biomaterials that can replace the main contaminants that are generated by the conventional fast fashion, but also create alternatives for current packaging items.
